Have you made a difference to your confidence, physical appearance and wellbeing from training? The ‘Shape’ Category is specifically for people who have achieved significant weight loss or healthy weight gain resulting in an overall improvement in health and fitness.

When Ester Cincotta, aged 37 from Knoxfield VIC, won the ‘Shape’ Category for the New You Awards in 2011 it was an enormous personal achievement. Ester had struggled with weight issues from adolescence and particularly in the years after having three children. With each pregnancy, Ester found herself gaining more and more weight and by the time she'd had her third child, she weighed 114kg.

With three young children to raise and a history of heart problems in her family, Ester realised she needed to make a change, so she joined Fitness First Knox City and started doing group exercise.

Esther decided to go one step further and began training with Personal Trainer Michael Cichocki, and after 12 life-changing months of Monday to Friday cardio and resistance training, she managed to shed over half of her body weight, equating to more than 60kg!

Following her amazing weight loss, Ester underwent surgery to reconstruct her abdominal muscles which had separated during the birth of her children and also to remove excess skin. The recovery process stopped her from training for four months but she resumed training as soon as she was fit enough.

Determined to set a healthy example for her children, Ester continues to train regularly, spending as much time outdoors with her family as possible.
